Frank "Schmed" DiFerdinando was born on March 3, 1940 in Philadelphia, PA and went to heaven on August 28, 2019 surrounded by his family in Newport Beach, California. He was the son of Daniel & Marie DiFerdinando and husband of Carmela DiFerdinando who proceeded him in passing. Frank is survived by daughter Dana DiFerdinando and her husband, Richard Crossland, son and daughter in-law Frank and Donna DiFerdinando. He was the proud grandfather to Donato, Anthony and Nicolo DiFerdinando as well as to his grand-dogs Casey, Rex, Rudy and Bella. Frank was raised in Paterson, NJ and attended East Side High School. Frank graduated with a bachelors degree from Rutgers University and an MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He is also a graduate of the Securities Training Corporation. Frank and Carmela raised their family in North Haledon, NJ. He and his father, Danny, owned and operated Dana Marie Fashions, a textile business. Later, Frank worked as an executive for Silver Star Fabrics, Merrill Lynch and Smith Barney. He spent the rest of his career as a professor at Passaic County Community College, Bergen County Community College and Hudson County Community College. Frank carried his organizational and management skills beyond the workplace and classroom into his personal life. During his childrens formative years, he coached boys and girls teams in baseball, football, basketball and softball and served as cubmaster of his sons Boy Scout troop. In later years, he assisted with his grandsons Little League baseball teams and could often be found working the scoreboard during their high school games. Frank loved God and his country and was proud to have served in the National Guard Reserves. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and a kind neighbor and generous friend. Where ever he went, people were drawn to his warm and funny personality. He loved to make people laugh, cook gourmet meals and watch his NY Yankees. He will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life is being planned in Southern California. A service will be held at a future date at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Totowa, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J.
