Arthur Feldman

October 27, 1938 — August 14, 2023

Art Feldman beloved husband of Diana or Nilam Feldman passed away on Aug 14, 2023 in Mission Viejo hospital, Ca, surrounded by family and friends from complications of bronchial asthma and myelodysplasia anemia. He was 84 years old.

Art was born in the Bronx, New York in 1938 to Robert R. and Anna Feldman. He had one brother Lenny. His family moved to Calif in the early 1940s settling in the projects in El Sereno area of Los Angeles. He spent his early school years at Vista Del Mar in Los Angeles a foster care facility since his mother was not well and his father worked in the Los Angeles ship yards. After that he was home schooled by the state of Calif, he then entered Wilson High School. He found school subjects boring not attend- ing all classes and felt the assigned homework unnecessary. But being an extremely bright child, he excelled on final exams allowing him to graduate. He continued studying technical classes at Trade Tech college after high school.

Art chose to try out many occupations to obtain a clarity of what he wanted to do with his life and decided entrepreneurship would be the only way to satisfy his need for maintaining his independence, and self-expression. Since the state denied him a business loan, he built up his business until he could afford a license. He established a manufacturing business of stretched artist canvas for the art indus- try calling it “Arts Canvas, every canvas a work of art”. He worked the business for 40 years and handed it over to his company foreman. One of his artists had a painting on his canvas hanging in the Louvre Museum. In retirement he invented a hand made stretching tool for the individual artist scaling it down from the larger tool used in his original manufacturing business and with the help of a painter friend called it “The Pit Bull” wrap stretcher. He had it patented and had this business for ten years.

Art was a man of great integrity. He had principles that he held very deeply, holding peopled in high regard. Living fearlessly he accepted obstacles in life as a challenge and never reduced himself to victimhood. He was admired for his wisdom, his wit and always had a calm way in helping others.

He was so easy to love and will be greatly missed.
