Barbara Shira Doak

Born in Long Beach, CA in 1938, Barbara was the only child of Lucile and Charles Raymond Shira. She grew up in Surfside, attending Huntington Beach High School and CSULB, and was an alumna of Delta Zeta.

She became a devoted and respected educator in the Long Beach Unified School District, serving as a teacher and assistant principal for 39 years.

Barbara was an avid crafter who loved decorating for the holidays, spoiling her loved ones with gifts, and spending time with friends in social clubs.

She was afflicted by dementia and went home to be with the Lord after 4 short months.

Beloved friend, mother, and wife, she is survived by her husband of 53 years, Leslie, and daughter Jennifer.
