In loving memory of Carol Ann Beardsley–mother, sister, auntie, grandma, all-around ray of sunshine–we celebrate a life defined by kindness, selflessness, and boundless love. On March 11, 1960, she entered this world as the second child of five to James Richard Brown and Elizabeth Lane Pratt, and on July 14, 2024, she unexpectedly departed to rejoin her Father, Mother and youngest sister (Mary “Dink” Corey), leaving behind a legacy that will forever remain in our hearts and minds.
Carol was known for her unparalleled kindness and wicked sense of humor. She played practical jokes, pinched people with her toes, and loved to sing and dance to Gloria Estefan and Fleetwood Mac. Her vibrant spirit touched everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark on their lives. She developed strong communities everywhere, including online, where she found so much gratification in gaming and support groups. Her sisters and brother (Cindy, Rick, Pam, Cathy, and Mary) were some of her closest friends.
As a devoted mother, Carol cherished her children immensely and was known for excitedly telling others about their accomplishments with pride. She leaves behind four children, Bruce, (Alison) Amanda (Jimmy), Ashley (Karl), and Sean (Melissa), who were her everything. Just as beloved and treasured, were her grandchildren, whom she adored with her entire heart. At the time of her passing, she had five and a half grandchildren–Trey, Victoria, Harper, Jax, Libby, and another on the way. Her grandbabies gave her a new meaning of pride and joy. Carol loved fiercely; her love was unconditional to all.
One of Carol’s most admirable qualities was her open-heartedness. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and acceptance, where all were welcomed with open arms. She possessed an extraordinary capacity for empathy and compassion, taking in anyone who needed extra love and treating them as her own. She was known for creating instant best friends, often leaving airports, restaurants, and any place with humans with new “besties.” Carol’s optimism and free, loving spirit equipped her to face life's challenges with courage and resilience, inspiring those around her to persevere through difficult times. She was always able to help others find light or to simply sit with them in their grief. Her love and beauty will forever be missed.
While her family and loved ones mourn her loss deeply, they also celebrate the life of a remarkable, strong woman who left an indelible impression on everyone fortunate enough to have known her. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire us all.
A memorial service to honor and remember Carol, will be held at 1461 E 2000 N in Lehi, Utah on July 27, 2024 at 2:00pm. Please come and help celebrate the beauty that she left in the world.
