Catherine Theresa Brennan was born in the Bronx, New York, to
Bridget “Delia” and Francis Columbia on March 26, 1925. She died on December 30, 2022, at the West
Anaheim Medical Center in Orange County, California, after a long battle with
Alzheimer’s dementia. She was 97 years old.
After graduating from St. Cecilia’s High School in the Bronx,
Catherine became a Private Secretary for a California-Texas Oil Company located
in New York City. She enjoyed several
vacation trips to Colorado, and eventually moved to Colorado Springs, where she
was employed by Shepard’s Citations Publishing Company.
One of her passions in life was caring for people in
need. She spent countless hours
volunteering as a Pink Lady at Penrose Hospital, and assisting at the Ronald
McDonald House and the Colorado Springs’ Soup Kitchen. In her spare time, Catherine enjoyed walking
in Monument Valley Park, playing bridge, and discussing world affairs with her
many friends.
She is preceded in death by her mother Bridget “Delia", her father Francis,
and four brothers: Francis, Charles, John and Peter and her older sister Mary. She is survived by her younger sister Ann,
who currently resides in New Mexico. Catherine
married Tom Brennan in 1962 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Colorado Springs. They
have one son, Tom Brennan, and two grandchildren: Cameron (17) and Connor (13). She was a great mom, great wife and loved her grand children very much. She will always be remembered for helping others. She will be missed but never forgotten.
The interment will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery located
at 1005 S. Hancock Ave, Colorado Springs, CO. during the 3rd week of July 2023.
