Dallas Clarence Liebenow

September 22, 1931 — February 9, 2025

Dallas Clarence Liebenow was born September 22, 1931, in Rochester, Minnesota to John and Amanda (Wiese) Liebenow. He was the second of four brothers. Raised on a dairy farm in Plainview, Minnesota, Dallas learned the value of hard work.


After graduating from high school Dallas enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served four years during the Korean War on the U.S.S. LST 1089. The LST transported tanks, trucks, soldiers, prisoners of war, wounded soldiers, food and supplies.


Following his military service, Dallas returned to Plainview where he met Donna Rae Haessig. They were married in 1956. Soon after they headed for California where Dallas started working in construction and cabinet making. After working for several cabinet shops and contractors, as well as taking side jobs on his own he started his own business, Dallas Cabinets.


In 1963 Dallas and Donna purchased their first home in Anaheim where they raised their 5 children. Dallas and Donna were married for 44 years until her death in 2001.


Bowling was Dallas’ lifelong passion. He has numerous patches, pins and trophies for high scores and winning teams. He bowled in many State and National Tournaments and especially loved the bowling trips to Las Vegas. He was happy to meet Patti Jo Zerboni in one of his leagues and they soon became a great team. Dallas and Patti were married in 2007 and moved to Laguna Woods.


Dallas enjoyed volunteering as an usher at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Buena Park where he had many friends over the years. He will be remembered by all who knew him.


He is survived by his 2nd wife Patti Jo, 3 daughters; Laurie (Chris) Verdi, Linda Liebenow, Deanna (Chris) Butler, two stepsons; Kevin and Josh Peconic. Seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also 3 brothers; Wilbur (Carolyn), Herman (Janet) and Delmer Liebenow all of Minnesota plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Donna Rae, and 2 sons; Randall John and Scott Alan Liebenow.


A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 24231 El Toro Road, Laguna Woods, California 92637.
