Listen to Obituary

Diane Rose Kyle née Malugeon was born July 11, 1957 in Lynnwood, CA to Dolores Stanford and James Malugeon. As a 7th generation Californian she was raised in Torrance and graduated from North High School in 1975. On Easter Sunday, April 14, 1976, she met the love of her life, Virgil “Tad” Kyle III. They were inseparable from that day forward and married on August 14, 1976.

Diane and Tad began their family in quick order, welcoming a daughter, Shauna in 1977 and son, Virgil Kyle IV in 1978. After a brief move to Utah for work, they settled in Laguna Niguel in 1985 where they raised their family. When they began to enjoy the flexibility that retirement provided they split their time between Laguna Niguel and their beloved Crooked Tree Ranch in Victor, MT.

Diane was an avid golfer, outdoor enthusiast and horse lover. She loved to play card games, host family and friends and support her children and grandchildren in all of their interests and hobbies.

Diane passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She is survived by her husband Virgil “Tad” Kyle III, her children Shauna (Mark) Atchity, Virgil (Kristin) Kyle IV, grandchildren Anthony and Kathryn Atchity and Virgil (V) “Quinn” and Ella Kyle, and her beloved goldendoodle “Rocking Rudy” Kyle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to be made in her honor to support Alzheimer’s research. https://donorservices.alz.org
