Dianna Lee Hund

January 24, 1951 – May 30, 2024

Lake Forest, CA

Dianna Lee Hund passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep on May 30, 2024. She was born in Oceanside, CA, to parents Charley Gosnell and Jean (Eaton) Gosnell. She is survived by her husband Rob Hund, daughter Tiana Shaw, granddaughter Aerilyn Shaw, son in law Daniel Shaw, and many in laws, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents and her beloved sister Annette.

Dianna grew up in Garden Grove and graduated Garden Grove High School. Her first claim to fame was having her picture taken by a Register newspaper reporter eating her lunch while a drug deal was going on 20 yards behind her (without her knowledge). This picture appeared on the front page of the newspaper to the great concern of her parents and the Principal of GG High School. All was well when they realized she was just an innocent bystander. After graduation she decided College was not for her, and went to work as a claims adjuster for an insurance company. Realizing her true passion was in sales, Dianna went to work for a coffee company selling to shops and grocery stores. When hearing of an opportunity to work in sales for Kimberly Clark, she applied and interviewed. Upon realizing she didn’t have a college degree, a common requirement for large companies, the sales manager told her she couldn’t be hired. Dianna asked him what degree he had. He proudly stated he had a business degree. Dianna with her fiery personality said, “Your mother must be really proud of you to spend all that money on a degree to now sell baby diapers!” She was promptly asked to leave the interview. Later that night the sales manager called her and offered her the job. Surprised, Dianna said she thought a degree was required. His response was “If you have that kind of chutzpa in an interview, you’ll make a hell of a salesman! He was right – Dianna had the second most sales in the nation her second year.

Soon after she decided to get into medical sales, and did well with a couple companies before deciding to become an independent representative in 1986, the year she married Rob. Rob joined her in the business the next year, and it thrived for over 20 years. In 2007 she decided to step away from the business and started Best DVD Solutions, which she operated until her passing.

Dianna loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, her favorite island being Maui. She and Rob were enchanted with the island and vacationed there for over 20 years. She was also an animal lover, insisting that any of her pets would be rescue animals – there were always 1 to 3 cats and dogs in the household for the last 40 years.

She became very excited and supportive when her husband Rob became an Elvis Tribute Artist about 10 years ago, and enjoyed the contests they attended, and many of Rob’s gigs, and the newfound friends they made throughout the years.

Everyone either loved Dianna or at least respected, (and many admired her) because of her fiery personality. She made friends easily and was never shy about what was on her mind. She loved God, this country, her family, friends, and was very excited to be “Nanna” to granddaughter Aerilyn. She will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
