Dr. Krishna Singh Bhavani was born on May 20, 1934, in India. He was the son of Thakur Ram Singh and Kamala Bai. Despite being born into a family of Zamindars and Indian police services, and facing resistance from his parents, he pursued a career as a General Surgeon and became the Medical Superintendent of ESIC hospitals in India. He met his wife, Dr. Shanta Bais, while they were studying at Gwalior Medical College, and they got married in 1963.
Krishna was an avid sportsman and a competitive marathon runner. He was also part of the young Indian athletes who visited Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) in 1951. He continued to pursue various track and field sports during his medical college years and professional career, participating in various veteran sports events and winning awards that inspired his kids.
Known for his supportiveness, he took care of his siblings during difficult times in his youth, and continued to be supportive of his own family after his marriage. He faced life's challenges with a positive attitude, always maintaining a strong demeanor in front of his family. In his peaceful retirement, he was always surrounded by family and his beloved grandchildren. He often spoke about the importance of living a life with good "neeyat" - aim, intent, or purpose.
He passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 31st, at the age of 90 years and 2 months, at home surrounded by his wife and family. He lived a full life and always had a passion for living to the fullest. He is survived by his wife, 4 children, and 8 grandchildren. His cremation is scheduled for August 7th at 10 AM, and his ashes will be scattered at sea off the coast of Orange County.
