Frances Jean Dirado

Frances Jean DiRado passed away on July 13, 2022 after complications from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Trafford, Pennsylvania on August 7, 1936 to Gladys and Richard McDermott. The family moved to southern California when Jean was a young girl. She attended Mount St. Mary’s University and became a teacher. She married Marinello (Marty DiRado) in 1959. They had two daughters. In 1977 the family moved to Oklahoma City where she and Marty lived until they moved to Beaumont, California in 2005 where they resided until last year. Jean was a faithful, dedicated Catholic. Until recently, she attended daily Mass. She said her rosary every day and was dedicated to the Blessed Mother. She was a Hospice volunteer for 37 years and and was involved in many church ministries. She did builds with Habitat for Humanity. She ministered to people wherever she went, most recently in the retirement community in Laguna Woods where she and Marty moved in 2021. She was an incredible wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She loved socializing and talking to people (hence one of her nicknames “20 Questions”). She cared about everyone she met. Her light and goodness will be missed. Jean is survived by her husband Marty, daughters Julie Smith and Jeanine Morley, her sons-in law Greg and Tim; her six grandchildren: Scott, Nicolas, Jessica, Mitchell, Alex and Andrew; two great granddaughters Nora and Maren. She is also survived by her sisters Maureen and Sarah, and brother Richard.
