Gary Arthur Anderson, born September 29, 1945 in Newton, New Jersey. He was a long-time resident of Mission Viejo California, died after a long struggle with cancer on April 11, 2022. Gary moved as a young child from New Jersey to Southern California, he lived in California for the rest of his life. During the Vietnam War Gary was stationed in Thailand and was a part of the United States Air Force. He returned to Southern California and after some college started working for Oline shutter cop. In Gardena, Ca. He worked installing their shutters around the country from Hawaii to Connecticut as well as hotels in Las Vegas, Dana Point, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. After retiring, he bought a little used bookstore called “The Book Corral” in Mission Viejo and sold it 4 years later. He read everything that interested him and was never without a book in his hand till his death. He was preceded in death by his father Edward Anderson Sr., mother Jeanette Belle Kay Anderson, and brother Edward Anderson. He met his wife Lorraine, a single mother of 4 at work, she is an interior designer. They worked on jobs together from Interiors to the bookstore. They were married 33 years. He became the Step Father to Ryan Hickman, Christen Hickman, Brendan Bieri, and Hollie Bieri. He also was G-pa to Patrick and Peyton Saunders. Gary was honest to a fault, a man of great character, witty, and also the comedian ready for a joke of the day. He made us all laugh! He loved all animals, especially dogs where I’m sure he is busy right now looking for our dogs that went before him at, “The Rainbow Bridge.”
