February 4, 1927 — February 21, 2020

George Curtis Green Sr. 93, of Fletcher, North Carolina and Mission Viejo, California, died Friday, February 21, 2020 at Saddleback Memorial Hospital in California. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on February 4, 1927 to the late Paul Stewart and Edith May (Swallow) Green. Curt proudly served in World War II European Campaign as a Sargent in United States Army and afterward studied Engineering at Indiana University. He worked in Indianapolis and Attica, Indiana before moving to Texas where he held a variety of managerial and technical positions. Curt was an Eagle Scout and a member of Mensa International. Curt married Pamela Walker Callenius on August 31, 1979, when he gladly inherited 2 daughters Shana Cole (currently of Texas) and Wendy Walker (currently of California). Curt was an avid reader, collector, connoisseur of fine dining and loved teaching others either in formal groups or one-on-one. A few of his favorite topics were that of photography, firearm use and safety, cigar and pipe smoking etiquette and classical music. He in life had acquired a healthy collection of books, specialty knives, writing instruments and pipes. He too enjoyed building things of wood particularly with his trusty helper, Pamela. Throughout his life Curt enjoyed taking pictures, cruising on the open seas, handgun target practice, vacationing with the children, growing long stem roses (Mr. Lincoln being his favorite), his daily evening cocktail of Macallan Scotch with his wife Pamela conversing about current events, a nightly tradition out on their deck up in the hills of North Carolina, overlooking the city below and spending time with his Indiana daughters: Theresa, Jenniffer and Sheila when they would come to visit. Surviving Curt are his wife: Pamela, 2 Texas daughters, 11 daughters and 1 son of Indiana, 24 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Sgt. George Curtis Green Jr., and 2 pets he adored, Freckles (Cocker Spaniel) and Texas Ranger (German Shephard) A private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Curt’s name can made to the Wounded Warrior Fund www.woundedwarriorproject.org .
