Irene Lopez Prickitt, a beloved wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and niece passed away peacefully in Mission Viejo, California on February 8, 2021. Irene, born in Sagay City on February 21, 1956, attended St. Scholastica’s Academy. There, she grew in her strong Catholic faith. This gave her the caring and faithful nature that all her friends and family knew. Growing up, Irene had many loves. She loved the outdoors. In her youth, she was a motocross rider, martial arts black belt, bodybuilder and rescue mountaineer. She was strong both in body and mind, resilient and persevering in everything she did. Irene has lived in the United States since 2008, coming to America was a new adventure where she was able to touch the lives of so many patients when she worked in healthcare. As a frontliner, she continued to work in the midst of the pandemic. Irene brought "magic” and made her patients feel special. Irene was happy in California which she considered home where she met and married her husband John Prickitt. A great storyteller, she was charming and the most loving person one could hope for. Irene had a remarkable sense of humor. She could turn any situation into something to smile about. In her last moments, she made sure everybody was taken care of and showed strength and grace even through her struggles with cancer. Irene was fearless and always treated everything as a challenge that she can overcome. Irene believed in three things - God, family and her fellow man. She was a manifestation of what the Gospel preaches: faith, love and charity. Because she was a very unique combination of these three qualities, she will be sorely missed by hundreds of friends and family.
