Jeffrey Eden Wood, 51, of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA., peacefully passed away surrounded by his family Tuesday, September 4th, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 21 years, Kate Wood, and his sons Brady, Preston, and Davis. He is also survived by his father, Stuart Wood of Carlsbad, his mother Roberta of Palm Desert, and his brother Bradley of Trabuco Canyon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Born September 17, 1966 in Long Beach, CA to Stuart and Roberta Wood, his early life in San Diego and Orange County involved a love of the ocean as a surfer and bodyboarder. Growing up he played Pop Warner football, and Little League baseball. He was also a Junior National swimmer and played team golf. His grandparents played an enormous role in Jeffs formative years, and along with his very close brother Brad, they traveled and spent time with them in Kansas and all around Southern California. As an executive in the software sales industry, Jeffs tremendous success, including starting his own company, can be directly attributed to his entrepreneurial spirit and his unique ability to insightfully relate on a very personal level with clients. He was a leader among his peers and was often sought after for advice. His outgoing personality, infectious smile, and zest for life uplifted and touched all who knew him. Jeffs sense of humor and instinctive comedic timing was legendary. He was often the funniest person in the room, and always managed to bring out the best in all of us. A consummate family man, Jeff was happiest surrounded by his family. He adored and cherished the time he spent with his sons and wife. He was very active in the community as a coach and mentor for his three boys, coaching baseball, football and soccer teams. He brought his love of sports to help motivate and teach in an environment of fun competition that was welcomed and respected by both the children and parents alike. As an adult he continued to push himself by learning snowboarding and honing his skills at golf in such locations as Pebble Beach and his favorite golf courses in Hawaii. He also had the opportunity to play with Tiger Woods, whom he out-drove on one of the holes in the Pro-Am at the Buick Invitational at Torrey Pines. His affection for tropical destinations was well known and surrounded by family and friends on a warm, azure beach with a cold drink was a preferred pastime. He loved playing the guitar, and was a 5-time champion and chief smack-talker in a fantasy football league with his five brothers-in-law. His indomitable spirit and positive outlook on life will be terribly missed by those who knew and loved him. To honor Jeff there will be a celebration of his life held on Saturday, October 6th, 2018; 11:30 - 3:00 at the Mission Viejo County Club, 26200 Country Club Dr., Mission Viejo, CA 92691.
