Jera Jewel Thrailkill

November 16, 1996 — July 11, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jera Jewel Thrailkill, a beloved daughter, granddaughter, and partner. Born November 16, 1996, Jera was the child of Jill Timshel and Bradley Thrailkill. She was lovingly raised by her mother and devoted stepfather, Michael Timshel in Battle Ground, Washington.

Jera was a ray of light whose gentle soul touched the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to know her. She had a kind and compassionate nature and possessed an innate ability to bring joy and comfort to those in need with her natural wit and enormous heart. She had an infectious personality that was sweet, caring, sarcastic, silly and loyal. Jera had a passion for music, poetry and the arts. Her creative mind and artistic abilities landed her a special invitation to the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics at a young age. Jera also attended Battle Ground High School where she was a cheerleader. Her creative talents manifested through her gifts as a makeup artist and she took many gorgeous selfies featuring her unforgettable smile.

Jera had an affection for animals, especially the family dog Simon, whom she helped raise from a puppy. She loved the beach, magical sunsets, and salty ocean air. In 2020, she moved to California for treatment and to restart her life with the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean. She was at her happiest there and found employment working with special needs children. Jera had a natural ability to connect with children and they were drawn to her playful and nurturing temperament. She was excited about a future in the medical field and plans to marry her significant other, Cody Wasson.

Jera held several special relationships close to her heart. She loved spending time with her maternal grandparents, grandpa Jim and grammie Patti, she was also especially close with her stepfather Michael. He showed her unconditional love and taught her about rock hunting and stargazing. The relationship Jera shared with her mom, Jill, was her most precious jewel. Together, Jera and her mom, shared an unbreakable bond woven tightly through years of adventures and mutual interests from cooking and music, to camping and hiking, to celebrations with family and friends. Her mom was her most trusted confidant and truest friend. One of Jera’s proudest moments was mastery of her mom’s spaghetti recipe, a favorite of Jera’s and something she was able to share with others. Together, with family and friends, they recently traveled to Hawaii where they experienced many special moments. We are all so thankful for this beautiful time.

Tragically, Jera faced immense challenges throughout her life. She courageously fought against the formidable disease of addiction, displaying unwavering strength and determination each day. Despite her valiant efforts, her struggle came to an untimely end.

Jera leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. She is survived by so many who will miss her deeply including her mother and stepfather, maternal grandparents James (Jim) and Patti Lindner, paternal grandparents Terry and Barbara Thrailkill, grandmother Janene Swaringen Robison, as well as a large family of both biological and chosen aunts, uncles and cousins and the love of her life, Cody. She was preceded in death by her biological father. Her departure has left an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her loved ones and all those who admired her resilience.

In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, let us remember Jera's beautiful spirit, natural warmth and her enduring kindness. May we honor Jera’s memory by supporting one another, raising awareness about addiction, and extending compassion to those in need.

Rest in peace, sweet Jera Jewel. Your time with us was far too short, but your impact will endure in our hearts forever.
