Jerome L. Gaston

October 18, 1950 — August 9, 2021

On Monday August 9, 2021, Jerome L. Gaston, loving husband and father passed away at the age of 70.  Jerry was born on October 18, 1950 in Oak Park, Illinois to Arthur and Grayce Gaston.  During the early part of life, his passion for music led him into playing in a rock/soul band.  He graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and later received a Master of Business Administration Degree at Illinois Benedictine University.  His career included working at the Illinois Tollway and more recently as Assistant Division Director at Argonne National Laboratory for over 25 years.  Jerry and Pam were happily married for over forty years and enjoyed many adventures and activities together.He was an involved and loving father who always made time to attend and participate in his son Greg’s sporting and school activities.  He was fun loving and enjoyed sports and games such as Water Skiing, Golf, Backgammon, Scrabble and Petanque just to name a few.  One of Jerry’s hobbies was creating videos accompanied by words and music he wrote that depicted family and friends’ travels, events and celebrations in life.  Traveling to various places with family and friends was also another passion of his.  One of the highlights of his many travels was playing the Castle Golf Course at St. Andrews in Scotland.  Jerry used his knowledge and good humor to engage with and help others in any way that he could.  Jerry was preceded in death by his father Arthur, mother Grayce, and brother Ray.He is survived by his loving wife Pamela; son Greg (Amanda), brothers Ron (Sandy) and Ken (Pam),brother-in-law Ed Morrison (Angela), niece Tara, nephew Ian and several cousins.  In Jerry’s memory, donations may be made to the Michael J.
