John S. Morris, visionary entrepreneur, motorsports pioneer, decorated veteran, and beloved father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2025, at the age of 78.
Born and raised in Pasadena, California, John demonstrated an early passion for business, innovation, and adventure. He attended California State University at Los Angeles, where he majored in business and accounting before proudly serving his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. His bravery and dedication earned him several Medals of Honor for meritorious service, courage, and valor.
After returning from Vietnam, John embarked on a highly successful career in sales, earning numerous accolades for his outstanding production. His entrepreneurial spirit quickly led him into business ownership. In 1979, he purchased a real estate office in Canyon Lake, California. Alongside his wife and longtime business partner, Jerra, he founded J. Williams Enterprises, Inc. in 1985 and later ADVANCED ACCESS in 1998. These ventures revolutionized real estate marketing and software, eventually serving tens of thousands of clients nationwide.
In 2003, John’s passion for motorsports took center stage when he founded Radical West, Inc., becoming a leading distributor of the Radical Extreme Sports Car. A year later, John and his partner Brad Rambo purchased Spring Mountain Motor Resort & Country Club in Pahrump, Nevada. What began as 193 acres of desert and a 2.2-mile road course grew under John’s leadership into a world-class motorsports destination. Today, Spring Mountain encompasses over 930 acres and boasts the longest road course in North America, attracting motorsports enthusiasts from around the globe. The creation of Club Spring Mountain in 2006 was a crowning achievement, offering exclusive access and a luxury experience to racing aficionados.
John lived life at full throttle. Whether racing his Radical SR3 Turbo, piloting his Robinson R-44 helicopter, paragliding, weight training, playing racquetball, or collecting exotic cars, he brought passion, energy, and joy to every endeavor.
He is survived by his daughters, Katie and Kristi; and his cherished grandchildren, Danny, Samantha, and Griffin.
John’s legacy of innovation, courage, and drive will live on through the lives he touched and the motorsports empire he helped build.
Please save the date for John’s Celebration of Life, which will be held on September 12th at Spring Mountain Motor Resort and country club, Pahrump Nevada. Where his spirit will forever race on.
