Joseph William Bahan

Joseph William Bahan of Downey, CA died peacefully on January 13, 2021 at the age of 81. He was born on November 24, 1939 in Lynwood, CA to Joseph Robert and Lillian Agnes Bahan. His family moved to Downey shortly thereafter.  He attended Our Lady of Perpetual Help grade school and graduated from Pius X High School in 1958.  While in grade school he met his future wife, Judy Willenbring.  Joe started working at his father’s family business, Royal Farms Dairy, after school, and worked his way up to Chief Engineer at what became Adohr Farms.   Joe married Judy at OLPH Church on July 16, 1960.  The couple had three children, Denise, Joseph, and Karen.  Joe had many hobbies including working on cars and drag racing.  He loved to take family vacations that included camping, motorcycle riding, water skiing, and jet skiing. His greatest enjoyment came from marlin fishing, and when his children were old enough, it became a family sport.   After 42 years at Adohr Farms he retired, allowing him to enjoy cruises and other vacations with the whole family, including his six grandchildren.  Joe was a loving husband, brother, father, and grandfather, a favorite uncle, and great friend.  He was always willing to help others and gave his time generously.  He shared wonderful stories and when asked, gave even greater advice. He was a man of great substance who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
