Karen Ashley Dudley

Karen Ashley Dudley, 73 years old, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on August 16, 2023 of natural causes. Karen was born in Los Angeles, CA and grew up in West Covina, CA where she graduated from Edgewood High School in 1968. She had a successful career in the 1970's and 1980's, working at Motorola and later at Fieldcrest.

She married the love of her life, Dean F. Dudley Jr, in 1982 and they lived a full life, both socially and personally. Their favorite vacation spot was Lake Tahoe where they would spend quiet time together and enjoy the natural scenic beauty of the area. Karen's kindness and genuine interest in her family and friends was one of the qualities that made her so special. Everyone that knew her was deeply touched by her love, intelligence and generosity. Plus, she was really fun to be with and had a great sense of humor. One of her great passions was cooking and it showed in the beautiful meals she would create to share with her loved ones. We have so many wonderful memories of her opening her home to friends and family to host holiday celebrations.

Karen and Dean relocated from Glendale, CA to Mission Viejo in 2005 and Karen remained there for the 15 years following the loss of her beloved husband. She leaves behind her older sister Lynne Ashley Bell, her younger sisters Michal Anne Ashley and Vicki (Kim) Ashley-Johnson as well as nieces and nephews: Tricia (Dominic Anderson) Ashley, Russell Williams, Robert Ashley, Rachel (Grayson Kopperud) Ashley-Lovelace, Caitlin Ashley-Johnson and Brianna Ashley, sister-in-law Sonia Ashley as well as many other loved family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dean F. Dudley Jr., her father Norman Ashley, her mother Pauline Klein Ashley, her brother Robert Ashley, her stepdaughter Lori Dudley Baker, her nephew Jeffrey Williams, her brother-in-law Gary Dudley and her beloved four-legged companion Allie.

Her death has left her family and friends and all who knew her completely heartbroken. She will be forever missed.
