Kathleen H Lanterman

July 18, 1953 — September 19, 2023

Kathleen "Kathy" Lanterman, 70, of Ladera Ranch, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on September 19, 2023.

Kathy was born on July 18, 1953, to Norbert and Teresa Stark in Villa Park, Illinois. She graduated from Montini High School in 1971 and received an AA in Health Care from Rogue Community College in 2014.

Before moving to Southern California, Kathy met and married Thomas McNamara of Villa Park and had two beautiful daughters, Kristine and Teresa. Kathy started her career in medical transcription at Eisenhower Medical Center while raising her daughters as a single mom after her marriage ended.

Kathy met Larry Lanterman on a blind date and fell head over heels in love. She married the love of her life in their home on October 12, 1995. Kathy and Larry lived in many places over the years but found a home in Grants Pass, where they lived for twenty years. After some time, Kathy missed her family in Southern California, so they moved to Laguna Niguel in 2019 to be closer to her mother and enjoy the beach.

Kathy was passionate about education and loved working with children at the elementary level for the last seven years. Kathy loved the ocean and would visit Strand Beach daily while living in Laguna Niguel with Larry. She was immensely proud of her family and loved the Lord. Kathy has always been described as a "ray of sunshine and always smiling." She leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Kathy is survived by her husband of 27 years, Larry Lanterman and she leaves behind her two daughters, Kristine Daft (Taylor), of Grants Pass; Teresa Freeman (Jordan) of Cathedral City; and three stepchildren: Kyle Lanterman of Desert Hot Springs, Kathy Lanterman (Rebecca) of Santa Rosa, and David Lanterman, of Santa Rosa. Kathy was a loving Grandmother to her nine grandchildren: Jeremy, Johnathan, Aubrie, Ellie, Kaylie, Joey, Connor, Sawyer, Kallie, and great-grandchild Macy. Kathy was the oldest of seven children: Michael Stark (Sharon), Jeffrey Stark (Yolanda), Kristine Rembis (Michael), Norman Stark (Maricella), Ken Stark (Andrea), and Patrick Stark (Jennifer). Kathy was an aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
