Mary Ellen Drumm

Mary Ellen Drumm August 9, 1939 - March 7, 2022 Mary Ellen (Nana) Drumm passed away peacefully on March 7, 2022 at the age of 82 after a long battle with heart, lung and kidney issues. Just as she dealt with all experiences in life, Mary managed these issues with strength and grace, spending as much time with her loved ones as possible.On her final day she was surrounded by her high school sweetheart/husband Richard and her son Mark. Mary was born in Dubuque Iowa to Edward and Marie Fahey in August of 1939, the youngest of three sisters, Jean and Ann. She met Richard at a high school dance. They were married in September of 1960, then moved to California where he was stationed in the Air Force. California suited them so they decided to make it their home, eventually moving to Mission Viejo in 1975. She worked as a real estate agent/broker and commercial real estate appraiser. Mary became a mother with the birth of their only child, Mark in 1962. She became a grandmother in 1997 with the birth of Lucas and a second time with the adoption of Yailin, both of whom adored their “Nana”. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, playing bridge and watching the news, but her great joy was her house, which she loved spending time in and showing it off to friends. Anyone who knew Mary was touched by her gentle manor, her bright smile and wonderful laugh. Mary was preceded in death by her father Edward, mother Marie, sisters Jean and Ann. She is survived by her husband Richard, son Mark, his wife Stacy, and her grandchildren, Lucas and Yailin.
