Michael Eric Ferguson

A devoted husband and loving father, Michael E Ferguson, passed away peacefully on Sunday March 2, 2025 at the age of 55 at Hoag Hospital in Irvine, CA, surrounded by his loving family and his close friends.

Born in Oxnard, CA to Christine and Garry Ferguson. Raised in the Navy housing in various states and finally settled in Virginia with his two brothers, Stephen and Ryan.

He was a dedicated Infrastructure Architect at Chapman University and cherished his time with family, especially his wife, Opel Rattana Ferguson, their child, Kyle Grant and their dog Brownie. He is known for his loving, caring, kindness, generosity, gentle and strong work ethic.

Mike lived a life filled with love and passion for travel and coffee. With his extensive knowledge for coffee, Michael was a co-advisor at the Coffee Club at Chapman University.

Mike is survived by his wife Opel Rattana Ferguson, his stepson Kyle Grant, his mother Christine Ferguson, his brothers Stephen Ferguson (Teana), Ryan Ferguson and his step sister Ruth Ann Reed (Stacy). His nieces Kristy Morrison, Taylor Pate, his nephews Cody Ferguson, Mason Reed and Seth Reed.

Mike will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held at Fish Interfaith Chapel located at Chapman University on March 13, 2025 at 3.30pm.
