Muoi Quan

Muoi Quan passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on January 29, 2024, following complications from ascites and a stroke.

Muoi was born in Vietnam on September 8, 1939 to An Ta and Muoi Truc who had origins from China. She was the fifth of seven children. Muoi married her husband Sieu Quan in December 1963 and had four children: Chau (Tiffany), Kiet (d. 1990), Hung and Thanh. She was widowed in 2005 and never remarried.

Muoi immigrated to Missoula, MT in 1979 where she raised her four children. Muoi's native language was Cantonese, but she taught herself English. She worked as a custodian at a hospital before retiring in the late 1990's and moving to Chino Hills, CA to be near her children. She was independent, active, gentle natured, and had a warming smile. She enjoyed learning new skills - experimenting with recipes from YouTube, and growing vegetables from seeds and cuttings. Muoi cherished her daily workouts at the gym, having video calls with relatives and friends from around the world, tending to her garden, and staying up with current events on her iPad. She was skilled around the kitchen and made sure no one ever left hungry. Muoi enjoyed travel, visiting such places as Canada, China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Japan, Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks.

Aside from her three surviving children, Muoi's legacy lives on through her grandchildren Rachel, Samuel, and Daisy. May her soul and positive energy continue to emit through the lives she touched.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
