Nancy K. Kanney

Nancy Kamrar Kanney, 89 years old, passed away December 3, 2021, at 6am peacefully. She lived in Laguna Woods, California. Nancy was born May 22, 1932 in Portland, OR to Mr. and Mrs. Kamrar. In her high school years the family moved to San Diego where she graduated from Grossmont High. Shortly after the family moved to San Mateo and then she moved to Hawaii but had to move back to CA when her father passed. She went to work for Pan Am as a ticket agent then to Parts warehouse where they called her “hot lips” referring to her red lip stick. She was on the front page of the Clipper Newspaper holding the new Air Raid Siren. She moved to Los Angeles and got married for 16 years to James Kanney,  a Captain for Western Airlines. They started a family and had three children. In 1972 she got divorced and moved her and her three children to Newport Beach where she lived for over 20 years. She had a relationship with Jerome North for 16 years and retired from working in retail at I.Magnin, which was part of Macy’s. Mom was a loving, caring mother and was always there for her children through thick and thin. She loved life and had a beautiful long life. She enjoyed just being home, decorating her home during retirement years, loved going shopping, going out with her family and friends, and even if it was just for a drive to the ocean. She was one awesome lady. She will be missed but always in all our hearts. Nancy was survived by her three children Lisa, Jay and Todd and also three brothers Jim, David and Richard, along with five grandchildren Amanda, Justin, Jordan Donavan, Ashlee and three great grandchildren.
