Roger Thomas Stoll

December 29, 1960 — February 9, 2025

Roger Thomas Stoll, age 64 of Trabuco Canyon, California passed away on February 9, 2025. He was hospitalized after suffering a sudden cardiopulmonary arrest of which he was not able to recover.

Roger was born on December 29, 1960, to Edward H. Stoll and Linda Jo Stoll in Long Beach, California. He was raised and lived his entire life in sunny California.

Roger loved to work with his hands. He could build just about anything and so his choice to work in construction for over forty-five years was a perfect path for him. Roger had an incredible work ethic and ran his General Contracting business with a sense of well-deserved pride. He was not only knowledgeable and trustworthy within his craft, but most importantly he was known and appreciated for the respect and kindness he extended towards his customers and the people working for him as well as alongside him.

In his free time, Roger enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, cooking, playing guitar, building models and puzzles with loved ones, fishing and, of course, watching football. Boy did he love football! In his early youth he began playing football through Pop Warner and continued to play all through high school where he played for the Cypress High School football team and earned his letterman jacket. He tried his hand at wine making, learned to speak some French, and held fond memories of traveling through Europe and the states.

Roger possessed an uncanny ability to remember and recite specific details of meaningful past events, good movies, and good times. With his quick wit and keen sense of humor, he could make you laugh on your worst day and on your best day! He was kindhearted, compassionate and caring, genuinely giving his all to those he loved and in return he was well loved.

He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Myers; his brother-in-law, Christopher Myers; his brother, Dennis Stoll; his sister-in-law, Jackie Stoll; his nephew, Trevor Stoll and his family, Andrea, Eric, Ethan and Rylee; and his beloved partner, Carol Layman and her family, James, Jason and Melissa.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Edward H. Stoll and Linda Jo Stoll, and his much-loved pup, Skeeter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, and in accordance with his request, his ashes will be scattered at sea. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to “ Habitat for Humanity ” or “ The Humane Society.

The family please asks that you share any photos or your favorite memories of Roger, to be posted onto the tribute wall.
