Russell Andrew Valovick

Russell A. Valovick, 79, of Lake Elsinore, California, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 9, 2019. Russell was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 19, 1939 to the late Michael and Dorothy Valovick. Russell is survived by his brother Paul (Sandra), daughters Kathleen Hartley, Karen (Joseph) Rapadas, and Sharon (Martin) Maynard, sons Russell (Hilda) and Brian (Jessica), 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Robert (Teri) Kallush, his daughter Deborah, his sister Sara (Tom) Bigenho, and his brother Bruce. Russell grew up in Detroit and graduated from Cooley High School in 1958. After attending Wayne State University, he began working at Comerica Bank in 1960. He spent 35 years with the bank and retired in 1995. Russell spent many years living in Troy, Michigan, and after retirement, moved west, first to Arizona and later California. Russell loved to travel and enjoyed many trips abroad on cruises. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. The family is hosting a private dinner on Saturday, March 16, in Troy to honor him. Information regarding the burial will be forthcoming.
