Sila Ann Fitzgerald

January 15, 1950 — July 29, 2022

Sila Ann Fitzgerald, 72, beloved wife of Michael Fitzgerald, died in her sleep of natural causes on Friday, July 29th, 2022. She had been in frail health for several years and will be remembered fondly by her family and many friends. Sila was born on January 15, 1950 in Munich, Germany. She was adopted as an infant by Joseph Martin Roller and Sarah Margaret Seaton Roller, who were in Germany on a military assignment at the time. Sila was a longtime resident of California. She married D. Michael Fitzgerald in Carson City, Nevada on August 28, 1987. The couple has resided in San Juan Capistrano since 1991. A devoted Christian and faithful servant of the Lord, Sila followed the savior’s example and treated others with love and kindness. She loved to study the scriptures and was an avid learner. She enjoyed reading, watching favorite TV shows, music, art, cooking, the beauty of nature and animals and the company of friends. Sila worked in several areas of the retail business industry during her career. She was a wholesale purchasing shopper of fashion, clothing, jewelry, art and other products. She donated to numerous charities and was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel of Gravette, Arkansas. Sila is survived by her husband, Michael, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Gail Deck (St. George, Utah), their five children and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her adopted older brother, Joseph Martin Roller Jr. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Capo Beach Fire Department and Paramedics, the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) volunteers and many friends and neighbors who have extended loving service and condolences during this difficult time. Your kind thoughts and deeds have been deeply appreciated. A Celebration of Life in Sila’s memory will be held on Saturday, August 27, from 1-3 p.m. at The Dana Point Community Center, Room B, 34052 Del Obispo St., Dana Point. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to one of the following animal charities in her memory: The Ark of San Juan Animal Rescue (arkofsanjuan.org); The Ironwood Pig Sanctuary, Arizona (ironwoodpigs.org); or Alley Cat Allies (alleycat.org).
