Theophilus Andrew Blackshear Jr aka “Tab” was a very special and dynamic person. Tab touched the lives of so many people in his lifetime.
If you are lucky enough to know Tab then you will forever remember his smile, his kindness, his love of sports and his love for family and friends.
Sadly, Tab passed away on August 18th @ Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California.
Tab was an 11-year post heart transplant survivor. In the past several years Tab served as a Patient Ambassador for Alnylam. He advocated for early awareness cardiac/heart disease and shared the journey of his story. He always wanted to give back the gift of life he was given.
He was born on January 26th, 1952, in Stamford, CT. Tab was the son of parents Theophilus Andrew Blackshear Senior and Josephine Elizabeth Whitfield Blackshear (deceased)
Tab is survived by his sister Barbara Washington, brother-in law Howard Washington, Apopka, FLA, nieces Korre Rene Jackson, San Jose, CA and Shelby Nicole Washington, Florence, Italy and their families.
Tab is survived by Sharon Myl, his life partner of almost 20 years. Together they shared a beautiful life together and were inseparable. Whatever challenges they faced, they faced them together with strength, love and support.
Tab will be missed and never forgotten. His love of life will live on in each of us as we take a memory, a story, a moment in time and cherish that for a lifetime.
